Privacy policy
("we") provides AI chat assistants that local businesses place on their websites. This policy explains what information we handle when you visit our website or chat with an assistant on a business's website, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Chat messages. What you type to an assistant and the replies it gives.
- Contact details you choose to give. For example your name, email, or phone number when you ask a business to follow up or request a booking.
- Basic technical information. The page you chatted from, a random conversation ID stored in your browser for that visit, and your IP address, which we use briefly to stop spam and abuse (rate limits). We do not store your IP address with your messages.
We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't sell personal information.
How we use it
- To answer your questions, using only information the business has approved.
- To pass your request or contact details to the business you chatted with, so they can reply to you.
- To give that business reports about what customers ask, so they can improve their answers.
- To keep the service secure and working.
Who we share it with
- The business you chatted with. They receive your messages, requests, and any contact details you gave.
- Service providers that run the service for us: our hosting provider (Vercel), our database provider (Upstash), our email provider (Google), and our AI provider (Anthropic), which processes messages to generate replies. They may only use the information to provide their services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
How long we keep it
We keep each business's most recent chat history (about 3,000 messages; older ones are deleted automatically), its leads and booking requests (the most recent 2,000), and daily usage counts for about 13 months. When a business stops using our service, we delete its chat history and contact records within 30 days of their request.
Your choices
Please don't share payment card numbers, passwords, or sensitive personal information in a chat. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email . If your request is about a specific business, you can also contact that business directly.
Children
Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with providers that use industry-standard security. No system is perfectly secure, so we limit what we collect.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
